About

Best Spanish recipes is the coming together of 2 passions of mine, Food and Blogging.

Whenever I mention that I was born in Spain to a new acquaintance, conversations often turn to those things that people perceive make Spain and the UK different: weather and food. I don’t know much about the weather, but I share with the British an infatuation with exotic ingredients, methods, flavours and colours.

This blog is born out of my desire to give something back. I hope you find it useful and that you are successful in preparing the many delicious dishes presented here. There are appetisers, mains, sides and desserts; traditional and contemporary dishes. Made of fish, meat, vegetables, rice… you’ll find everything from the colourful Paella to the humble Spanish Omelette (tortilla), from flashy warm salads to that sure-fire way to end a meal: Flan.

Each recipe on the site can be commented on: maybe you’d like to tell us how did it go for you, maybe you’ve got questions about a step or an ingredient, maybe you have a better recipe or want to suggest a variation for other people to try.

Some of Spain’s flagship recipes require ingredients or tools that may be hard to find. Wherever possible, I have added links to online shops that carry those difficult items, from Paella pans and paella spice mix to pressure cookers, serrano ham stands and Spanish cookbooks.

I wish you every success in your Spanish cooking adventures. New recipes are added every week and new features are in the pipeline, such as exclusive recipes from Spain-based chefs, so make sure to come back often for your Best Spanish Recipes fix!
